What color is the water? I it has a green tint, the problem is algae and an indicator of too many nutrients in the water. Do you have plants in the tank? Have you tested the nitrate levels?

You also might want to test the water you are using for water changes. It could be that it is high in nitrates, in which case doing water changes with it would not help the problem. In that case, you would want to use some form of purified water to make your water changes.

If your cloudy water is white, it is an indication of a bacteria problem. There are products that can help with that.

The problem could still be excess nutrients in the water. Have you tested for nitrates? If they are high, I would suggest more water changes and gravel vacuuming. It is possible that the other things you mentioned could be causing problems, but high nutrients are the most likely cause.

No matter what I do, my take won’t clear up. The lady at PetSmart told me to feed my Guppies 3 to 5 times a day and each time I do, the fish act like they’re starving. Any other suggestions?

I have cloudy water that foams at the top. I was told that it is caused by changing water to offen (once a month about 1/3 to 40% . The fish store expert told me to add bacteria and wait. It’s been three days with no change to date.
    Please advise.

Three to five times a day is way too much. Once a day is plenty. Fish will always act like they are starving.

Have you tested your water lately. With that much feeding, there is a good chance that your parameters are way out of range. I would be very surprised if you don’t start losing fish or have an algae problem soon of you don’t have one already.

Your water change schedule sounds about right. How old is your tank? How many fish do you have in your tank, what kind and how big are they? How big is your tank? How often and how much do you feed?

  9. Your tank is Your tank is looking great. Sorry to hear that you had some prmolebs. If you don’t mind my asking how did you treat the ich? If you really want a glass top to fit you could probably get some glass cut to fit at a glass shop for a little less than it would cost in the store, just a thought. Do you still have your frog? I remember you said it was your favorite.
